The Bears announced Monday that they have signed LS Patrick Mannelly and DT Matt Toeaina to contract extensions.

Both players were set to become free agents after this season.

Mannelly, who has spent his entire 13-year career with the Bears, signed a two-year extension that will keep him in Chicago through 2012 and Toeaina signed a three-year deal that runs through the 2013 campaign.

"I'm excited I can continue playing for the Bears," Mannelly, the all-time leader in games played for the Bears (204), said in a statement released by the team. "With the way the season is going, it could be a chance for two more exciting years. I love the Bears. I've been here for 13 years. Chicago is my home and I didn't want to leave."

Toeaina has started 10 times for the Bears this season after playing in just five games in his previous three seasons with the team. He has 23 tackles and two sacks.

"I got an opportunity and I had to make sure I took advantage of it — and I guess I did," Toeaina said. "I'm looking forward to the next three years with the Bears. My family and I love it here in Chicago. We love the coaching staff, we love our teammates and we love the city."
