The Lions have been impressed with QB Drew Stanton's play this season, as he has led the team to its first winning streak since the 2007 season. It was not long ago that Stanton was considered former GM Matt Millen's botched pick and a player who appeared to have no future in Detroit. Of course, there is the question now of where Stanton goes from here. He certainly has raised his profile with wins over the Packers and Buccaneers, both in the playoff hunt at the time, and solid football for the most part. No team is going to sign Stanton this offseason, when he could hit free agency, and promise him a starting job. And thus brings up the situation he'll face: return to Detroit, where he'd be the No. 3 next season behind Matthew Stafford and Shaun Hill, or try to look for a better opportunity elsewhere. Stanton, who suffered a grade-3 separation of the AC joint in his left (non-throwing) shoulder against the Bucs, might not get more chances to prove himself this season and might be resigned to the idea that his best situation actually could be to remain in Detroit.
