The Jaguars may be without RB Maurice Jones-Drew for their must-win game against the Redskins on Sunday. The Jags listed their star back as doubtful. Fox Sports' Jay Glazer is reporting that Jones-Drew will not play on Sunday.
Jones-Drew, who is battling a left knee injury, missed Friday's practice. No Jaguars player who missed a Friday practice has returned to play on Sunday this season.
Jones-Drew rushed for 46 yards on 15 carries in last Sunday's loss to the Colts. He had six consecutive 100-yard games before last week.
The way we see it
While they are facing the 5-9 Redskins, the Jaguars need every weapon they can get as they battle to stay alive in the race for the AFC South. They are currently tied with the Colts at 8-6. If Jones-Drew cannot go, Rashad Jennings will get the start. The second-year back has played well this year, rushing for three TDs and a 6.8 average.
Fantasy Spin
This would be a big blow to Jones-Drew's fantasy owners in fantasy championship week. Keep an eye on his status leading up to the game and snatch up Jennings if he's available, just in case.
