Here's yet another crucial matchup as the Vikings get set to face the Eagles in Philadelphia in Week 16:
Vikings OLT Bryant McKinnie vs. Eagles DRE Trent Cole
Cole is one of the better pass rushers in the NFL, a ferocious and tireless worker who plays even harder in the fourth quarter than in the first. He's built solidly and low to the ground and can give taller rushers trouble with his leverage at times. That said, powerful players can give Cole trouble at times, and smart blockers will try to run him wide of the pocket and get him to rush too far upfield.
McKinnie has had a strong season for the most part, but he's coming off a miserable game in which Bears rookie DE Corey Wootton whipped him and knocked out QB Brett Favre in what could be a career kill shot. Even with the bad game, though, McKinnie has had one of his better seasons and can be an anchor in the passing game. Cole might be the kind of player who frustrates McKinnie with his consistent motor.
