Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis doesn't seem too excited about the attitude of WR Chad Ochocinco, who is recovering from an ankle injury.

"Well, he's being his mopey self," Lewis told the San Diego News Tribune in a conference call with San Diego media on Wednesday. "Hopefully, he can pull himself out of it and move forward. … When things don't go Chad's way, that's kinda how it happens."

Lewis went on to say that there is no way to deal with the situation and that the team will be ready to move on.

"We'll put a new guy in there. If he's not ready to go Sunday, we'll have somebody in there ready to go and go from there."

Ochocinco responded with a tweet.

"Did anyone get the license plate to the bus I was just threw under --->."

The way we see it

This is a situation that bears watching in the final two weeks. Ochocinco was targeted just three times in Week 15 and missed practice Wednesday with the ankle injury. He openly wondered about his future in Cincinnati beyond this season on this week's "T.Ocho Show."

The Bengals started Andre Caldwell and Jerome Simpson at wide receiver a week ago, and with Terrell Owens (knee) out for the season and Ochocinco battling the ankle injury, the door is open for Cincinnati to give its young receivers more playing time in the final two games. That said, Ochocinco loves to play and has appeared in all 16 games in seven of the past nine seasons, and he hasn't missed a game in ’10.
