When asked about the Deadspin.com blog post from Tuesday that showed foot-fetish videos of a woman who bears a striking resemblance to his wife, Michelle, Jets head coach Rex Ryan didn't deny that the star of the videos is his wife.
The videos, which reportedly are a couple years old, show a woman showing off her feet in shoes, stockings or barefoot. In one video, a voice that sounds like Ryan can be heard.
Ryan addressed the issue during his meetings with the media, though he didn't offer any additional information. When asked if he and his wife made the videos, he said, "… This is a personal matter and I'm not going to discuss it."
The entire Jets organization publicly supported Ryan on Wednesday.
"Woody (Johnson, the Jets' owner) and I have met with Rex," GM Mike Tannenbaum said in a statement released by the team. "This is a personal matter, and he has our full support."
To a man, the players professed their loyalty to Ryan and said the latest off-field incident surrounding the team this season wouldn't be a distraction.
(It is) definitely not a distraction," QB Mark Sanchez said, according to the team. "It's a personal matter with Rex, but we're behind him 100 percent and it won't affect our team."
Ryan discussed the issue with the players at a team meeting Wednesday morning.
"He basically came in there and said, 'You guys might know about the situation; some of you guys might not know,'" CB Darrelle Revis said, according to the Newark Star Ledger. "'You'll find out later on today. Right now, I feel embarrassed, but it's something personal with me. We need to focus on Chicago.' "
The NFL reportedly considers the issue a "personal matter" and has no plans to investigate further.
