Monday was not a good day for Broncos rookie LB Kevin Alexander.

Hours before he was released by the team, Alexander had been arrested by Aurora, Colo. police for investigation of misdemeanor assault and battery. A woman who said she was the linebacker's girlfriend told authorities that he had assaulted her Sunday night. Alexander was released from custody after posting $2,000 bail and is set to be in court today.

Alexander played in eight games for Denver this season, including their loss to the Raiders on Sunday.
