Vikings-Bears prediction

The snow, a stadium and playing-surface controversy, Brett Favre playing ... "Monday Night Football" has gotten a little more interesting in the past week.

The Vikings were set to go with Joe Webb, but Favre magically went from out of this game to very much in, starting instead of Webb. We'll see what Favre can do in what might be his swan song, but he'll have less help with RB Adrian Peterson out because of nagging ankle and knee injuries.

The conditions, however, shouldn't prevent either team from throwing the ball, so expect a game with a lot of passing.

Is Favre ready for a 40-throw night? In his mind, maybe. But the Bears will cut off a lot of those passing lanes and make it tough on him, even in these Favre-like conditions. Perhaps Sidney Rice can make a play or two against the secondary, but it won't be easy.

Of course, those same conditions apply to the Bears, so Jay Cutler must keep within the game and not let the crowd and weather and the Vikings' defense force mistakes and turnovers.

Prediction: Bears 20, Vikings 17
