There are a couple significant variables that add intrigue to this game, but neither is powerful enough to swing it in the Vikings' favor. Several inches of snow will be piling up in TCF Bank Stadium before the night is over, if weather projections prove to be accurate, and the upgrade of Brett Favre's status from out to questionable might give the Vikings a bit more hope, but it's had to imagine the banged-up 20th-year veteran putting forth a good performance under these circumstances if he plays.

Whether it's Favre or rookie Joe Webb under center, the Bears' main focus has to be on keeping Adrian Peterson from snapping off long runs. Even if Peterson makes a big play or two, the Bears will survive. Chicago should win as long as QB Jay Cutler takes care of the ball while completing short, quick-hitting passes to help his offensive line and as long as RB Matt Forté has a decent showing.

Prediction: Bears 20, Vikings 13
