Chiefs QB Matt Cassel is active for the team's game Sunday vs. St. Louis, but it is unknown if he or Brodie Croyle will start.

Cassel missed the team's Week 14 game vs. the Chargers after undergoing an emergency appendectomy. Croyle started, but the Kansas City offense struggled mightily in a 31-0 loss. The team hoped Cassel would be healthy enough to play in a big intrastate game against the Rams on Sunday.

According to various Twitter reports, Cassel has not looked sharp in pregame warmups.

The way we see it

It looks like Cassel really will be a game-time decision for the Chiefs, who need a win to stay ahead of the Chargers in the AFC West. Even if he starts the game, there's a good chance he won't be able to finish it.

Fantasy Spin

Cassel does not belong in lineups given this news, and WR Dwayne Bowe becomes a very risky play if Croyle is under center.
