The Broncos have joined the league's 2010 quarterback shuffle and plan to start Tim Tebow in Sunday's game against the Raiders.

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that the rookie will get his first career start in place of Kyle Orton. Tebow has thrown just one pass this season — a three-yard touchdown pass against the Chiefs in Week 10. He has 12 rushes for 28 yards and three rushing TDs this season. Orton did not throw in practice this week and is struggling with a rib injury.

Orton has started every game this season for the 3-10 Broncos. He was one of the league's leaders in passing the first five weeks but has tailed off. For the season, Orton has tossed 20 touchdowns and nine picks. But in his last two games, Orton completed a combined 28-of-69 passes for 283 yards with three interceptions and no TDs.

This will be the second game for head coach Eric Studesville, who took over after Josh McDaniels was fired. McDaniels decided to select Tebow in the first round of April's draft.

The way we see it

It's been a wild Saturday for backup quarterbacks, as Joe Webb and Matt Flynn had already been named starters for their respective teams, and now it looks like Tebow will get his shot. Fellow rookies John Skelton, Jimmy Clausen and Colt McCoy are also starting at QB on Sunday. This will be fans' first chance since the preseason to see Tebow's throwing ability, something that scouts were leery of when he entered the NFL.

Fantasy spin

Tebow starting may mean bad news for Broncos WR Brandon Lloyd, especially against a solid Raiders passing defense. RB Knowshon Moreno should get lots of carries to take some pressure off the rookie.
