While the team is happy with his performance, we hear Falcons MLB Curtis Lofton hasn't been satisfied with his play of late, and one team observer said Lofton's long bout with a knee injury is a lingering concern. Lofton, who is among the NFC leaders in tackles (100), has appeared on the injury report with a knee issue for the past 11 weeks. It hasn't caused him to miss any games, but head coach Mike Smith is giving him and a few other veteran players time off from practice during the week so that they can re-charge. The Falcons' run defense hasn't been as effective over the past two weeks, and Lofton wants to make sure Atlanta returns to the form it showed earlier in the season vs. the run in short order. The Falcons have allowed 151 yards rushing or more in each of the past two games after doing so only once in their first 11 contests.
