Patriots fantasy focus

The way the Patriots' offense has been rolling, even against top defenses, it's hard to bench any of their offensive players. Heck, even their defense is not a bad start.

QB Tom Brady is the top candidate for MVP and has three consecutive 300-yard passing games. The Packers' third-ranked pass defense will give him some challenges, but he has picked apart every defense thrown at him this season — well, except Cleveland's.

At running back, this is a great week to start BenJarvus Green-Ellis. The Packers struggle against the run, and "The Law Firm" has been racking up 4.3 yards per carry. He has 11 touchdowns this season, and you know he'll get some carries in the red zone.

Wide receiver could be a little tricky this week. It's hard to bench either Deion Branch or Wes Welker, as the two have been on fire of late, but they will face some solid corners in Charles Woodson and Tramon Williams on Sunday night. Welker is a better bet in terms of receptions, but Branch is more of a big-play receiver. Again, Brady has found a way to succeed against almost everyone this season, so it's hard to bench his two favorite targets, but don't be shocked if they don't have 80-plus yards receiving.

In Yahoo! fantasy leagues, a lot of people are snagging the Patriots' defense, and that's not a bad idea. The league's worst defense the first 12 weeks of the season has given up a combined 10 points in the past two games. They got a defensive touchdown last week and have forced 12 turnovers over the past four games. And they likely will face a Packers team led by QB Matt Flynn without much of a running attack — a recipe for a solid defensive effort.
