Injures have forced Bill Belichick to do a lot of shuffling on the Patriots' defensive line this season. They lost starting DLE Ty Warren for the season in training camp and the versatile Mike Wright, who leads the team with 5½ sacks, has not played since Week 10 because of a concussion. Wright's backup, Myron Pryor, has been out since Week Nine. And DL Gerard Warren and Ron Brace got dinged up in the Patriots' win over the Bears. Earlier in the season, Belichick plugged seventh-round rookie Brandon Deaderick in, but the rookie who has seen the most time lately has been undrafted free agent Kyle Love. At 6-1, 310, Love's job is to draw two offensive linemen, like Vince Wilfork. A daily team observer said Love is the best the team has in replicating Wilfork's skills in the trenches. In his first significant action, Love recorded two tackles and a pass defensed against the Lions. Joining Love will be the recently acquired Louis Leonard, another space eater.
