Our Rams sources agree that starting FS Oshiomogho Atogwe has had a solid season — albeit not nearly as good as former NFL star S John Lynch said it was in a recent glowing assessment. "I'd say it's been pretty good, and you also have to take into account how much the players respect him as a defensive captain and team leader," said one daily team observer. "But he has also made some mistakes in coverage (like biting on Drew Brees' pump fake on the five-yard TD pass to Marques Colston that was the first score in the Saints' 31-13 win in Week 14), and I'd have to think the team's willingness to pay him the $8 million roster bonus necessary to keep him around is going to be a tough call." Recently, the Rams have actually been getting their best safety play on the strong side, where Craig Dahl has made former starter James Butler an afterthought with better range and durability.
