The Patriots have placed CB Jonathan Wilhite on injured reserve and signed free agent DT Louis Leonard to the active roster.
Leonard entered the league as a rookie free agent in 2007 with the Chargers before playing in all 16 games with the Browns in '08. He was then traded to the Panthers for a sixth-round draft pick in '09 and played in two games with Carolina. He was released on Sept. 28 of this year.
Wilhite was a reserve defensive back in New England for the first nine games before a hamstring injury put an end to his season.
