Giants WR Steve Smith will miss the remainder of the season after injuring both his hamstring and knee on Monday night.
Smith returned to the Giants' lineup on Monday night after missing the previous four games with a partially torn pectoral muscle. He suffered the injuries following his lone catch of the day in the fourth quarter of New York's 21-3 win.
Tests revealed additional problems with the knee, and it is expected Smith will require surgery.
The way we see it
The Giants will take a hit after losing Smith for the season, but the team has proven it can win without him. The running game has been strong as of late, and WR Hakeem Nicks played well on Monday night with a 7-96-0 effort.
TE Kevin Boss has been the recipient of a lot more of QB Eli Manning's passes with injuries to the wide receivers. He has scored four times in the past six games and could be a good addition to your fantasy roster.
