Here's a look at a key matchup heading into Monday night's Week 15 battle between the Bears and Vikings:

Bears' run defense vs. Vikings RB Adrian Peterson

With an uncertain situation at quarterback, the Vikings will be relying heavily on their offensive line and backs to keep the chains moving against the Bears, and that probably is a welcome development for Chicago, which just had its pass defense shredded by the Patriots.

Minnesota's O-line hasn't been clearing many holes of late, and Peterson rushed 14 times for a season-low 26 yards against the Giants in Week 14. Peterson injured his right knee in a collision with QB Tarvaris Jackson in that game, but reports indicate the injury isn't much of a concern for Minnesota.

Chicago's defense held Peterson to 51 yards on 17 carries when it faced him in Week 10. The Bears' defensive line held its ground, and the Bears' linebacking corps flowed to the ball quickly and tackled well.

If coordinator Rod Marinelli's front seven rebounds from a rough outing against New England and keeps Peterson from breaking off long gains, Minnesota's offense, which only scored 13 points against the Bears in Week 10, could be silenced.
