The Vikings placed rookie CB Chris Cook on injured reserve after he battled knee injuries all season.

Cook showed promise in training camp but suffered slight mensicus tears in both knees, one during the preseason and one during his first game of the season. He hasn't played since Nov. 21 against the Packers, when he was benched in game.

Although both knees have bothered him, Cook has said it's his left knee that has been most troublesome.

The Vikings replaced Cook on the roster by promoting OT Thomas Welch from the practice squad. Welch was a seventh-round pick of the Patriots in April out of Vanderbilt.
