The Redskins signed P Sam Paulescu on Tuesday to replace P Hunter Smith.

Smith botched his hold on an extra-point attempt Sunday that cost the Redskins the game. Down 17-16 after a late TD, the extra point would have sent the game into overtime. Instead, the 'Skins lost to the Buccaneers.

Paulescu played in one game for the Redskins last season and punted for a 46-yard net average. He will be the 'Skins' third punter this year.

After the game, Smith said, "If anybody needs to lose their job, it's me."
