The Bills officially placed WR Lee Evans on injured reserve Tuesday, ending the receiver's streak of appearing in 109 consecutive games dating back to 2004.

Evans suffered an ankle injury in Sunday's win over the Browns. He finished the season with 37 catches for 578 yards and four TDs.

TE Shawn Nelson's season is also over. He has been dealing with migraines the past three weeks and been unable to practice. He was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list Tuesday. Nelson was suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

To replace Evans and Nelson, the Bills signed OG Colin Brown and OT Erik Pears.

The way we see it

Evans may have lost his top receiver position to Stevie Johnson, but he still had a solid season and can stretch defenses deep. Undrafted free-agent WRs David Nelson, Donald Jones and Naaman Roosevelt will be in line to replace Evans.
