The Redskins have placed SS LaRon Landry on injured reserve, ending a season that may have concluded in the Pro Bowl.

Landry started Washington's first nine games this season, but has missed the past four with an Achilles tendon injury. He finished the season with 85 tackles and eight passes defensed, and had been discussed as a potential Pro Bowl candidate before suffering the injury during a Week 10 loss to the Eagles.

Reed Doughty has started in Landry's place the past four weeks.

The way we see it

Landry was playing great for the 'Skins, so it is a shame that his season ended this way. He should be able to make a full recovery by next season, as head coach Mike Shanahan said he didn't think the safety would need surgery to repair the injury.
