Brett Favre expressed doubt to USA Today, and his head coach, Leslie Frazier, did the same to ESPN over whether the QB can play Monday night in Detroit against the Giants.
The collapsed Metrodome roof postponed the game for more than 30 hours and has given Favre more time to extend his consecutive-game streak beyond the 297 games it sits at currently.
Favre suffered a sprained shoulder against the Bills last week after his first pass attempt and never returned. If Favre can't start against the Giants, backup Tarvaris Jackson would take his place.
When asked if the extra time would help him play, Favre texted USA Today: "I doubt it, but it does buy a little time." Frazier told ESPN that Favre was "doubtful, but sometimes you never know with him."
Favre is listed on the injury report as questionable, which in NFL parlance is considered 50-50.
The game will start tonight at 7:20 p.m. ET at Ford Field in Detroit.
