Packers-Lions first-quarter reflections

The Packers-Lions game is off to a very lackluster start with both offenses scuffling more often than not in a scoreless first quarter at Ford Field.

The Packers had two turnovers — a lost fumble after a catch by rookie TE Andrew Quarless and Aaron Rodgers’ first interception in 182 pass attempts that should have been an easy TD toss to red-hot WR Greg Jennings. Rodgers’ pass deflected off the wide-open Jennings and into the hands of an alert CB Amari Spievey.

The Lions’ best drive ended when Drew Stanton threw a pass up for grabs on third down in field-goal position that was intercepted in the end zone by Packers CB Tramon Williams.

Daryn Colledge was replaced by Jason Spitz early at left guard, and DE Cliff Avril limped into the locker room for the Lions.
