Former Broncos Super Bowl-winning QB John Elway is expected to be in the Broncos' front office by the end of the season, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Elway was approached last week about a front-office role before the Broncos fired head coach Josh McDaniels.
On Friday, Elway said on his weekly radio show that he has spoken with owner Pat Bowlen and COO Joe Ellis about joining the front office in an official capacity. Elway has served as a consultant this season for the Broncos. He also gave the team a pep talk before their win over the Chiefs earlier in the season.
The way we see it
The Broncos are in the midst of historic losing, missing the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season, a far cry from when Elway led them to two Super Bowls. He has been very involved with football since he retired and could help put the team back on the right path from an executive position.
