Undrafted rookie RB Javarris James does not have the athleticism or natural ability of his cousin and former Colts great Edgerrin James, but he has made a statement that he has the determination and work ethic to carve out a niche on the Colts, the way we hear it. James is averaging an eye-popping one TD every 7.5 times he touches the football — by comparison, Edgerrin averaged one rushing TD every 28.4 carries as a rookie. Make no mistake, Javarris can't handle the workload of Edgerrin, but he has proven to be a nice weapon down by the goal line and with limited carries. Javarris also appears to have earned the trust of QB Peyton Manning. In Week 14, with the Colts facing a 4th-and-4 at the Titans' 36-yard line, Manning audibled to a draw play for James, on which the hard-nosed back carved out 11 yards and set up a crucial Adam Vinatieri field goal.
