After a rookie season in which he made just nine catches in 11 games, Raiders WR Darrius Heyward-Bey has been stuck on 19 grabs since Halloween this season. He hasn't made a catch in any of the past three games in which he has played, and a Raiders quarterback hasn't targeted him with a pass in either of his last two games. When asked about his low production this week, Oakland's coaching staff wasn't critical of Heyward-Bey. Offensive coordinator Hue Jackson said the seventh overall pick in the 2009 draft has been open and the QB hasn't seen him. Jackson also said that defenses sometimes are taking him away. Head coach Tom Cable credited Heyward-Bey with doing the dirty work, saying he might be the team's best blocking receiver. Regardless, Heyward-Bey has struggled to put together a decent stretch of games. With injury-plagued WR Chaz Schilens getting healthier, some team observers are wondering how Heyward-Bey is going to fit in the mix at receiver if he doesn't start making more catches.
