While his completion percentage hasn't been as impressive of late, Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman said he doesn't think his performance has declined much and we're told the second-year veteran is showing no noticeable signs of a loss of confidence, despite his struggles and the team's recent rough patch.

"I feel like, as far as throwing the ball and with my footwork and everything, I've been as sharp as I've been all year," Freeman said. "So I definitely don't think it's a slump."

One team observer said it looks like Freeman is pressing to make big plays downfield instead of settling for shorter throws, and he threw a costly pick late in a Week 13 loss to Atlanta. Overall, his ball protection has improved considerably from where it was during his rookie campaign. After turning the ball over 20 times in nine starts last season, Freeman has only committed seven turnovers in 12 games this year.
