Here's a matchup to watch in Sunday's Browns-Bills game:
Browns TE Benjamin Watson vs. Bills pass defense
Watson repeatedly worked open against the Dolphins, catching 10 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. In his seventh NFL season and first with Cleveland, Watson has established a career-high for catches (50) and leads the Browns in receiving yards (574). He is 70 yards from establishing a career-best in that category, too.
The Browns work the ball to a variety of targets, but no one has had more passes thrown his way than the 6-3, 255-pound Watson, with 77 in 12 games. He has been targeted at least six times in 8-of-11 games.
Watson has thrived both working the middle of the field and getting down the seam. He has above-average speed for the position and can present problems for safeties and linebackers.
Bills FS Jairus Byrd could find himself matched up with Watson in coverage at tines. Byrd doesn't have an interception this season, but he had nine picks a season ago. Bills MLB Akin Ayodele, who will drop into coverage on occasion, also might match up with Watson. The Bills primarily play man-to-man coverage.
