The Bears' top two strong-side linebackers, Pisa Tinoisamoa and Nick Roach, did not practice Wednesday and backup Rod Wilson could start for the first time in his six-year career if both players ahead of him on the depth chart can't play vs. the Patriots on Sunday.
Tinoisamoa is recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and may not be able to play until much later this month. Roach, who suffered a hip injury against Detroit in Week 13, could be available to play this Sunday.
Wilson, who usually contributes on special teams only, replaced Roach when he left the game against the Lions.
The Bears are in good shape health-wise aside from the situation at strong-side linebacker.
