Here's our weekly look at the contributions made by Browns rookies this season:

CB Joe Haden (first round): Haden, who started in place of Eric Wright at left cornerback in the 13-10 win at Miami in Week 13, intercepted a pass for a fourth consecutive game, becoming the first Browns player since 1968 to accomplish that feat. At this point, it's clear Haden. who's played all 12 games with three starts, isn't leaving the  lineup save for injury anytime soon.

"I think that he’s playing with a lot of confidence, which is good," head coach Eric Mangini said of Haden on Monday. "He has a much, much higher understanding of what we are trying to do, defensively, in terms of scheme. He’s getting better with his technique. There are still some things that we need to work on there. What I want from him, and I’ll say the same with (rookie S) T.J. (Ward) too, is the mistakes that have kind of repeated over time, we have got to eliminate those. There are a few things there that I want to see that next step from both of those guys, but I’ve liked the things that they’ve done. Let’s put those to bed and take another leap here.”

Haden's five interceptions lead the Browns and are second-most in the AFC behind fellow rookie corner Devin McCourty of New England.

S T.J. Ward (second round): Ward recorded three tackles in Sunday's win at Miami and now has 92 on the season, best on the team. He also has 11 solo special-teams tackles, tops on the club. Ward has started all 12 games this season.

QB Colt McCoy (third round): McCoy has missed the last two games with a high-ankle sprain. More on his status for the Week 14 game at Buffalo could be learned Wednesday, as McCoy was slated to work out on Tuesday, Mangini said. In five starts, McCoy has completed 81-of-127 passes for 975 yards with three TDs and three interceptions. He's compiled a 85.3 passer rating.

OG Shawn Lauvao (third round): Lauvao appeared as a reserve in Sunday's game at Miami. He is the top backup to Floyd Womack at right guard. Lauvao has played in five games, starting at right guard at Jacksonville in Week 11.

WR Carlton Mitchell (sixth round): After appearing as a reserve the previous two weeks, Mitchell was inactive in Miami. He's appeared in four games this season, with one rush for nine yards.

DL Brian Sanford (undrafted free agent): The Browns' third-string nose tackle, Sanford has been inactive for the last four games.

Practice-squad members

DL Travis Ivey (undrafted free agent): Waived from the roster on Sept. 4 and signed to the practice squad Sept. 5.

RB Quinn Porter (undrafted free agent): The Browns signed him to the practice squad on Nov. 23. The Stillman (Ala.) College product had a stint on the Redskins' practice squad in November and was originally signed by Green Bay.

RB Montario Hardesty (second round, No. 59) is on injured reserve after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the Browns' final preseason game. ...SS Larry Asante (fifth round): He was waived on Sept. 4 and signed to the Browns' practice squad the next day. The Buccaneers signed him to their 53-man roster on Nov. 30. ... DE Clifton Geathers (sixth round, No. 186) was waived by the Browns on Sept. 4. ... WR Johnathan Haggerty (undrafted free agent) was waived/injured on Aug. 16 with a foot injury and is currently on Cleveland's injured-reserve list.
