The Patriots' leader in sacks, DL Mike Wright, will miss his second consecutive game with a concussion.
Wright, who has 5½ sacks this season, is among the Patriots' inactives for their Monday-night game against the Jets. Joining Wright is RB Thomas Clayton, OL Mark LeVoir, DL Eric Moore, OL Mark Ohrnberger, WR Taylor Price, DL Myron Pryor and CB Jonathan Wilhite.
Pryor (back) and Wilhite (hip) missed last week's game, as well. Wilhite is the team's nickel corner, and Pryor is a backup interior lineman.
For the Jets, LB Jamaal Westerman, OL Vladimir Ducasse, TE Matt Mulligan, TE Jeff Cumberland, WR Laveranues Coles, DT Marcus Dixon, DL Matt Kroul and QB Kellen Clemens will be inactive.
The way we see it
Not having Wright is a big loss for the Patriots' defense in the biggest game of the season. Rookie DL Kyle Love and Brandon Deaderick will be counted on for the defensive line rotation with Vince Wilfork, Ron Brace and Gerard Warren. OLB Tully Banta-Cain could see more time, as well.
Without Wilhite, Darius Butler, who was victimized by the Jets in Week Two, will be the team's nickel corner, but it could also go to three safeties.
The Jets signed Coles this weekend, but few expected the veteran to play on Monday night.
