Ravens LB Jameel McClain will be hearing from the league soon after his punishing hit on Steelers TE Heath Miller on Sunday night.

The NFL confirmed the hit is under review and that McClain will be fined. Miller left the game with a concussion. NFL Network's Jason La Canfora first confirmed the story.

McClain hit Miller after a pass intended for the tight end fell incomplete. Miller was on the ground for several minutes before being helped off the field by trainers.

The way we see it

The biggest surprise of the incident was that no penalty was called, especially in a season where the league is cracking down on hits. The NFL was quick to admit during the game that a penalty should have been called. This will be McClain's first offense of the season, but considering how violent the hit looked, his fine likely will be in the $40,000 range.
