Two Ravens players have been fined by the NFL for illegal blows to the head of defenseless players in their loss to the Steelers Sunday night.

The league fined LB Jameel McClain $40,000 for his hit on Steelers TE Heath Miller that forced Miller to leave the game with a concussion.

DT Haloti Ngata was fined $15,000 for hitting Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger in the head.

Neither player was penalized. The league admitted shortly after McClain's hit that it should have drawn a flag.

The way we see it

McClain's fine of $40,000 is on par with the fines the league has levied since its crackdown on hits to the head. It was a very violent hit that knocked Miller out of the game. Ngata's hit forced Roethlisberger to undergo nose surgery on Monday.
