Steelers TE Heath Miller left Sunday night's game against the Ravens with a concussion and will not return

LB Jameel McClain hit Miller in the head in a violent collision on an incomplete pass intended for Miller. His head was flung back and hit the ground. Miller was tended to by Pittsburgh's medical staff and lay on the field for a few minutes. He walked off the field with help from medical personnel.

Miller is the second tight end to leave the game. Ravens TE Todd Heap left in the first half with a pulled hamstring. Steelers ORT Flozell Adams also left the game and was replaced by Trai Essex.

The way we see it

It was fortunate to see Miller walk off the field after a disturbingly hard hit. It's a surprise that McClain was not penalized for the hit considering the league's crackdown, but he should expect to hear from the league and get fined this week.

According to NBC and Sports Illustrated reporter Peter King, the league admits that the referees should have flagged Baltimore for the helmet-to-helmet collision.
