DE Mario Williams received treatment for a sports hernia the day before the Texans' Week 13 loss at Philadelphia, head coach Gary Kubiak said. "He's been doing all he can, but I know it's obviously bothering him," Kubiak said on Dec. 3, noting that the shots Williams took can take several days to become effective. Williams, who has made multiple appearances on the injury report with a groin injury since the beginning of the season, has played through the injury all year, notching 8½ sacks. Though he did not record a sack vs. Philadelphia, he did draw an Eagles holding penalty rushing QB Michael Vick in the fourth quarter. Williams, who has never missed an NFL game, was bothered by a shoulder injury at times last season but managed to record nine sacks. In other Texans injury news, WR Andre Johnson aggravated the same ankle injury that he suffered in Week Two, took a painkiller, kept playing and caught six passes for 149 yards.
