Although they do not have the parts they would like to have to operate offensively, the Redskins must find a way to manufacture an offense with a run game that has not produced consistently. Getting Ryan Torain back should help some, as Keiland Williams and James Davis are limited in what they are able to generate in terms of cutback and big-play ability. And clearly, it's not just the running backs themselves but also the offensive line, which might not be addressed much without outside help until next season. Without a running game, the Redskins' attack becomes very hot-and-cold. It explains a lot; in games the team has not been able to run effectively, the offense either has been very hit-or-miss in the passing game or not effective at all. With a decision to be made on Clinton Portis in the offseason, it's safe to say that many of the faces on offense that contribute to this mostly failed running game will be different when the Redskins line up in 2011.
