In the first five games of the season, Ravens WR Anquan Boldin was QB Joe Flacco's clear go-to receiver. Boldin was targeted 42 times, nine more than any other Ravens player. Since then, Flacco has spread the ball out more evenly, and primarily to three players, with WR Derrick Mason targeted 43 times, Boldin 41 times and RB Ray Rice 40 times in the past six games. What can be read into this? With a bevy of capable targets, the Ravens don't have to force the ball to any one receiver. Boldin, who has the ability to take over a game, remains their most dangerous pass catcher — witness his tour de force vs. Cleveland in Week Three — but Mason continues to prove he can consistently get open, and Rice is one of the game's top receiving threats at his position. It is hard to argue with the Ravens' approach, with Flacco throwing 13 TD passes and only two interceptions the past six games.
