Raiders LB Rolando McClain has missed the past two days of practice due to an issue with his right foot, and the injury could linger for a while. Head coach Tom Cable announced on Friday that McClain has arthritis, an uncommon ailment for a 21-year-old rookie.

McClain has been limping and favoring his left foot, according to the coach, and neither the team nor player knows when he'll be healthy enough to play.

"He was better last night, but worse this morning, so it will be day-to-day and we'll probably have to wait until Sunday morning,'' Cable said.

McClain is third on the Raiders with 57 tackles and has started all 11 games for Oakland this season.

The way we see it

It's never good for top young players to get hurt, especially with an injury that could linger for as long as arthritis. McClain is one of the league's elite up-and-coming linebackers, so an injury like this should not be taken lightly.
