Panthers RB Mike Goodson's stint as a primary rusher appears to be over now that he's splitting carries with Jonathan Stewart, who returned from a concussion in Week 12 after missing two games, but Goodson's recent performance could be enough to help split up one of the league's best rushing tandems. If Carolina decides to part ways with DeAngelo Williams, who will be a free agent, or trade Stewart, it has a dependable and cheaper back it can trust. A second-year veteran, Goodson had only 29 career carries heading into Week Nine, but he has had 68 carries in the four games since and gained 4.5 yards per carry in that span. Williams, who was placed on injured reserve in November with a foot injury, recently said he wants to stay with the Panthers, but the club could be content to go with a one-two punch of Stewart and Goodson and spend its money filling holes elsewhere.
