The Denver Post is reporting that Vikings RB coach Eric Bieniemy could be in line to be the offensive coordinator at University of Colorado if Redskins TE coach Jon Embree accepts the school's head-coaching position. Embree has reportedly been offered the job.

Bieniemy was a star running back at the school and was the nation's second-leading rusher in 1990, when he finished third in the Heisman Trophy balloting. He went on to play in the NFL for nine seasons with the Chargers, Bengals and Eagles.

Bieniemy also coached running backs at Colorado in 2001 and '02. He has been in his position with the Vikings since 2006 as a part of Brad Childress' initial staff. RB Adrian Peterson has credited Bieniemy with helping make him a better pro.

Bieniemy was a candidate for the USC offensive coordinator job last year. If hired, Embree would be the first black head coach in CU history.
