The Lions will stick with PK Dave Rayner the rest of the season.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Lions will place PK Jason Hanson (MCL) on injured reserve.
Hanson was injured in Week Nine. The 40-year-old had converted 12-of-14 field-goal attempts and all 19 point-after tries.
Rayner, a Michigan native who attended Michigan State, has converted 4-of-6 FG attempts and all five of his extra points since replacing Hanson.
The way we see it
Rayner's misses have come from at least 40 yards out and he hasn't attempted a field goal of more than 50 yards while Hanson made three field goals from at least 50 yards out. Rayner is a solid replacement for the veteran. Hanson joins Mike Nugent and Stephen Gostkowski as starting kickers to land on I.R. this season. He has played 295 games with the Lions, one short of Bruce Matthews' record for most games played with one team.
