Eagles CB Asante Samuel is inactive for tonight's game vs. the Texans, which is bad news for Philadelphia.

The star corner missed last week's game vs. the Bears due to a knee sprain, and it is still bothering him enough to sit out a second contest. Samuel had hoped to return to face Texans WR Andre Johnson, but it appears that showdown will have to wait.

Besides Samuel, the Eagles' inactive players are WR Riley Cooper, TE Garrett Mills, OT Austin Howard, OG Reggie Wells, DE Juqua Parker, CB Brandon Hughes and QB Mike Kafka (third QB).

The Texans' inactives are WR Dorin Dickerson, TE Owen Daniels, TE Anthony Hill, OGs Kasey Studdard and Shelley Smith, DE Jesse Nading, LB Xavier Adibi and QB Matt Leinart (third QB).

The way we see it

Samuel's absence is a big loss for the Eagles, who allowed three TD passes a week ago in Chicago. Joselio Hanson will start in his place.
