The Chicago Park District began resodding the playing surface at Soldier Field on Tuesday, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

The turf will be ready for play not long after the process is complete, but the Bears won't play at home until the Patriots come to Chicago on Dec. 12.

Bears and Eagles players appeared to lose their footing at times during Sunday's game at Soldier Field, and there have been several instances in recent home games when chunks of the turf came loose.

The Tribune reported that the turf at Soldier Field is usually replaced two or three times per year.
