The Chiefs have signed LS Thomas Gafford to a contract extension, according to the Kansas City Star. Terms of the deal were not available.
Gafford, 27, has been the Chiefs' long snapper for most of the past three seasons. He has played in all 11 games in 2010 after playing in every contest in '09. The Houston product was slated to become a free agent after this season.
The way we see it
The Chiefs' special teams have been much improved this season, and Gafford is being rewarded for it. He is the third K.C. player to receive an extension this year, with ILB Derrick Johnson and OLB Andy Studebaker also being locked up.
