RB Rashad Jennings flashed in limited opportunities as a rookie in 2009, gaining 5.2 yards per carry while backing up starter Maurice Jones-Drew. Then he opened some eyes this summer, displaying the best set of hands on the team to complement his bruising running style between the tackles. But a shoulder injury, paired with some impressive runs from rookie RB Deji Karim, caused Jennings to carry the ball only three times in six games leading up to the Jaguars' Week 12 game against the Giants. With Karim handling kick-return duties, and Jones-Drew needing a few blows amidst his 25 touches, Jennings exploded with his finest game as a professional, shredding a stout Giants' defense for 53 yards and a TD on only seven carries. The way we hear it, Jennings gives the Jags confidence and the flexibility to spell Jones-Drew, whom the club will lean heavily on as it makes its final playoff push.
