Steelers LB James Harrison has been fined $25,000 for a roughing-the-passer penalty in the team's Week 12 win over the Bills.

Harrison's helmet hit Buffalo QB Ryan Fitzpatrick's chest after the quarterback had released the ball, resulting in a 15-yard penalty. The NFL said Fitzpatrick was "in defenseless position at the time the contact was made," according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

This is the fourth time Harrison has had to pay a fine this season. He was docked $5,000 for roughing the passer on Titans QB Vince Young in Week Two, $75,000 for hitting Cleveland WR Mohamed Massaquoi in the helmet following Week Six and $20,000 for a hit on Saints QB Drew Brees in Week Eight.

On Monday, Harrison had his appeals of his second and third fines denied by the league.

The way we see it

Harrison has claimed that the league is singling him out and looking for reasons to fine him, but this was a valid punishment for leading with his helmet. The Steelers want their players to be aggressive, but it has been costly to Harrison this season.
