The Jets could have a new kicker for their AFC East showdown on Monday night against the Patriots.

Veteran PK Kris Brown is scheduled to work out with the team on Tuesday, according to ESPNNewYork.com. Starting PK Nick Folk has missed five of his last 10 field-goal attempts.

Brown spent three games with the Chargers this season after losing his job in Houston to Neil Rackers in the preseason. He converted four field goals in five attempts with San Diego and is a 77 percent career kicker on field goals.

Folk was a perfect 5-for-5 kicking field goals in an Oct. 11 win over the Vikings, but he also missed three field goals in the Jets' Nov. 14 win over the Browns.

The way we see it

With two 9-2 teams facing off with home-field advantage in the AFC up for grabs on Monday night, the game could certainly come down to a clutch field goal, and Folk's struggles are a concern. Brown is not great, but he is a veteran.
