Two more players were added Tuesday afternoon to the Packers’ already lengthy injured reserve list  — LB Brandon Chillar and TE Spencer Havner.

Chillar, who sustained a shoulder injury at Atlanta on Sunday, played in eight games with one start this season. He posted 18 tackles (14 solo), a sack and an interception.

Havner, who re-signed with the team on Nov. 12 and appeared in one game, suffered a hamstring injury against Atlanta.

The way we see it

Chillar’s loss for the rest of the season comes at an inopportune time with Niners TE Vernon Davis coming into town this weekend. Widely regarded as the Packers’ best linebacker in coverage, Chillar would have probably been assigned to cover Davis, who scored a TD against the Packers in the Niners’ loss to the Green Bay in Week 11 last year.

Havner’s impact was negligible in his short time with the team this season. Down the road, though, he might have come in handy considering the chemistry he seemed to have established with Aaron Rodgers when he was on the team last year.
