Here's a matchup to watch in Sunday's Browns-Dolphins game.
Browns ORT John St. Clair vs. Dolphins WLB Cameron Wake
The 6-3, 250-pound Wake has emerged as one of the AFC's elite pass rushers in his second season in Miami. Wake leads the conference with 10½ sacks, notching at least one sack in 7-of-11 games in 2010.
Wake, who starred for the CFL's B.C. Lions before signing with Miami. can beat opponents a variety of ways. He can play with power, getting lower than his opponent and pushing him toward the quarterback. He can win with pure speed, too.
Wake, who plays on the weak side in the Dolphins' "30" front, will rush the passer from a three-point stance from the left side, meaning St. Clair, the Browns' first-string right tackle, figures to be his primary opposition. The 6-foot-6, 320-pound St. Clair is at a leverage disadvantage vs. Wake, and St. Clair must also be wary of Wake's quickness.
According to STATS, St. Clair has allowed just one sack in six games this season. The 11th-year pro from Virginia missed five games with a ankle injury before returning to action in Week Nine. St. Clair has made 74 career starts, with 19 coming as a member of the Browns in the last two seasons.
